ICHS Foundation

The International Community Health Services (ICHS) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established in 2007 to provide philanthropic support to International Community Health Services.

ICHS is the largest Asian and Pacific Islander (API) community health center in Washington State. The primary goal of ICHS is to meet the health care needs of an underserved population whose access to health services are limited by their income, culture and language. ICHS offers a full range of medical and dental services and has on-site laboratory and pharmacy in both the International District and Holly Park locations. Culturally competent multi-lingual staff offer interpretation in 15 API languages and dialects, with contractual arrangements for other languages. Learn more about ICHS at www.ichs.com. The vision of the ICHS Foundation is that each member of the Asian Pacific Islander community and others have access to affordable, culturally appropriate quality health care services.

The ICHS Foundation has an experienced and dedicated group of community members who believe in the missions of ICHS and the ICHS Foundation. The Board continues to evolve and grow, and we are looking to add to this dynamic group of people.

Charles Wu | President
Mr. Wu has been a member of the ICHS Foundation Board since 2007 and has also been on the ICHS Board since 2005. He is the Supervisor of the Solid Waste/Vector Nuisance Program in the Environmental Hazards Section of Public Health - Seattle & King County where he has worked for the past nine years. He currently serves on the 2010 ICHS Gala Committee.

Nicole Li | Vice President
Ms. Li is an attorney with a background in medical research ethics, public health, and teaching. She is also an ICHS board member and has extensive experience as a volunteer for a variety of other nonprofit organizations, both in the northwest and abroad.

Teresita Batayola | Secretary
Ms. Batayola has been a member of the ICHS Foundation Board since 2007 and is also currently the ICHS Chief Executive Officer. She was also recently elected the Board President of the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations and serves on the 2010 ICHS Gala Committee.

Marie Faulring | Treasurer
Ms. Faulring joined the ICHS Foundation Board in 2008. She previously served on the ICHS Board for over five years. Currently, Ms. Faulring is the Controller for Community Health Plan, and she also serves as the chair of the ICHS Foundation's Finance and Audit Committee in addition to sitting on the 2010 ICHS Gala Committee.

Ed Alipio
Mr. Alipio joined the ICHS Foundation Board in 2009. He is a senior vice president for Bank of America. In addition to his knowledge of finance and risk management, Mr. Alipio has also been actively involved in the community through several nonprofit organizations. He is a co-chair for the 2010 ICHS Gala.

Sheila Esmeralda
Ms. Esmeralda joined the ICHS Foundation Board in 2010. She is a Senior Treasury Relationship Manager, VP at KeyBank.

Elizabeth Gilje
Ms. Gilje joined the ICHS Foundation Board in 2009. She is currently a consultant in health care management and was previously the CEO of KPS Health Plans. Ms. Gilje also currently serves on the ICHS Foundation's Finance and Audit Committee and the 2010 ICHS Gala Committee.

Nikki Lac Huang
Ms. Huang joined the ICHS Foundation Board in 2009. She is currently the Development and Outreach Manager for the Highline Medical Center Foundation. Ms. Huang also currently serves on the 2010 ICHS Gala Committee.

Amy Kim
Ms. Kim has been a member of the ICHS Foundation Board since 2007 and has also served on the ICHS Board since 2005. She co-chaired the ICHS Annual Gala for three years and is currently a member of the 2010 ICHS Gala Committee.

Hiroshi Nakano
Mr. Nakano has been a member of the ICHS Foundation Board since 2007 and has also served on the ICHS Board since 1997. He is the Chief Executive Officer for South Sound Neurosurgery, PLLC.

Thomas L. Taylor
Mr. Taylor joined the ICHS Foundation Board in 2008. He is a Senior Vice President and Manager for the Overseas Banking Division of U.S. Bank and has extensive experience as a leader in community and business activities. He currently serves on the 2010 ICHS Gala Committee.
